The 10th Generation Toyota Corolla (Altis) E140 and E150 Series was released on October 2006. The sedan is also known as Corolla Axio (Japan), Altis (Malaysia, Singapore and other ASEAN countries). The latest Toyota Altis will be launch in Malaysia on early March 2008.

2.4 liter 2AZ-FE Inline 4 cylinder DOHC VVT-i 158hp (118kW) and 162 ft.lbs (220 N.m) 5 speed manual / 5 speed automatic

1.8 liter 2ZR-FE Inline 4 cylinder DOHC VVT-i 132 hp (98kW) 5 speed manual / 4 speed automatic

(In Hong Kong and Jamaica, it is also available in 1.5 liter engine)

The 9th Generation of Toyota Corolla (Altis) E120 series was launched in August 2000 with a longer wheelbase 2600mm (102.4 inch) and width of 1700mm (67 inch), this to avoid for being tax at a higher bracket in its country of origin : Japan. Though the European models are much wider than its Japanese siblings.

The 9th Generation of Toyota Corolla is also called Toyota Altis (launched in 2001) in Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, India and Thailand. The current batch of Toyota Altis have received a number of cosmetic facelift. The lower spec of Corolla Altis which is branded as Toyota Limo, is used by taxi driver in Thailand.
