I lived in Tokyo in the 80′s and the Bulldog was a hot car for city life. 100 HP is a lot in a car that probably weighs 1100 lbs max. It had room for four -well one American driver and 3 Japanese girls
and it went like stink. Remember in the City it’s not about top speed; it’s about acceleration, and the Bulldog would basically jump straight up and fly from about 20 to 50 mph which is all you ever needed.
It had lots of cool features too – like the first AC unit that had a cooler box for your drinks – something that just finally showed up again as a feature in my 08 328i…..
Think of it as a mini-Mini on steroids…. Great car in its element.
